Bam La Defense Oblong Violin Case

This case features Bam’s signature hightech protection, created from three premium materials: ABS, Airex foam, and another type of ABS.

These materials enhance the case’s strength and durability, making it more protective than most violin hardshell cases you’ll find.

Hightech is also as strong as carbon fiber cases, but more temperature-resistant, as carbon fiber can absorb temperatures faster than Hightech cases.

Important note:  The aluminum exterior is just for the look of the case. Underneath the aluminum layer is Bam’s Hightech shell. So this is not a metallic case that would absorb heat. It just looks metallic.

Many oblong violin cases usually weigh between 6 to 8 lb.

At just 4.8 lb., it’s comparable to the weight of a medium-sized laptop (which are usually around 4 lb.).

This really showcases Bam’s incredible engineering feat of reducing the weight of a violin case to that of a laptop, without sacrificing protection or durability.

Unlike standard cases with zippers or key locks, this case comes with airtight seals and combination locks. This way, you don’t have to worry about losing your key—just remember your 3-digit combination!

This case comes with 2 water-resistant neoprene backpack straps and 5 D-rings, giving you two carrying options.

The first option is the classic upside-down V shape, with the straps attached to D-rings at the back of the case and extending out to the sides.

The second option is to attach a single strap to the D-rings on the side, enabling you to carry the case over one shoulder.

Both straps come with security rings. In the rare case of your strap buckle coming loose, these extra rings will ensure the case doesn’t drop to the ground.

This case comes with a large removable accessories pouch for your essentials like pencils, cleaning cloths, rosin, polishes, cleaners, and more.

This removable pouch also makes it easy to organize and carry your essentials to your music stand without the whole case.

Another unique feature of this case is the placement of the velcro strap for a shoulder rest. Most velcro straps are along the side of the case, which makes it difficult to secure larger shoulder rests, such as a Bon Musica shoulder rest.

In the La Defense case, the velcro strap is on the neck cushion. So there’s a lot more space around the velcro strap, which allows you to secure large shoulder rests.
